I have a Malibu with one of those front bumpers with the lower valance. One of the tracks we run at is an outlaw 1/8th mile place. We found out the finish line sensor is 6 inches off the track surface. I don't have an issue at NHRA tracks but this place bites me if I brake heavy and drop the nose. Would building a piece to set below the bumper solve my issue.

So as long as it trips beam each time I shouldn't have consistency issues correct? The stage beams are 3" high or under? (Normally, haven't checked this place)

I'm sure if you look around at the track you run someone has one on their car. As you can see in my avtar I have a huge stripe taker.. I think it depends on the track but If I remember correctly its under 2" by rule book.
