im looking at building at just under a 14-1 sbf motor. keep getting told its to much to spray it? any truth to that or?

Unless you are using junk parts the people telling you that just want to try and stay faster than you. ;)

Between 13 and 14 to 1 seems like a good safe place to be. If you are running heads-up in a jet-limited class then you'd want more compression and have a more finicky tune.

thanks... it will be a all forged 393 in a stock block. and i was thinking of spraying around 150-200 through a single stage plate kit. its more of a grudge match car then anything.
