My car has a New FAST XFI
Programable Digital 6 with HVC 2 coil #8253

When I try to check the timing the light will flash even with
the inductive pick up not even connected to a spark plug wire????

The light says it is rated for DIS ignitions and convetinal ign??
It is a Inativa 3551 not advance type light just the basic timing light??

Any ideal

Ive tried Mac and Snap-on lights. The only one I have that works with my 7AL3 and HVC-2 is a cheap Craftsman advance timing light.

I have the same setup, Dig6, FAST, and coil. My timing light works just like it should. I have the Equus Pro Digital Timing Light 5568. Could it be a bad plug wire, jumping spark?
I agree. When there is a bad plug wire the coil secondary voltage (and corresponding flyback voltage in the primary) rises to the maximum it can produce. The result is a more vigorous emission (transmitting) of radio energy from the broken wire, which is acting as the transmitting antenna. Use a pocket sized radio set to receive on AM and move it around near the plug wires. It should make the loudest popping sound near the bad wire.
