It may be a waste of time, but I am attempting to build a formula to get a baseline nitrous timing number for various engine/head configurations. If you would like to help, please give me some engine specifics and I'm going to use this as a baseline to adjust my formula. What I will need is this:

Type engine
CID
Valve angle
Bore
Stroke
Compression
Dish/Dome CC
RPM Peak Power
Chamber size
NOS Jet Area
Number/Type of NOS solenoids
Current timing that you run

Here's an example:

SBF
357 CID
20* Valve Angle
4.030 Bore
3.5 Stroke
11:1 Compression
-4 cc Effective dome/dish volume
5700 RPMs at peak power
60 CC chamber
93 Nitrous pill
1 pro shot nitrous solenoid
20* total timing

In the above example, my current formula shows that the engine should be at 18* total instead of 20*. This is why I need many examples of different combos so that I can adjust the formula.

thats pretty much my combo to a T,the only difference is (2)56 jets and peak power is closer to 6400 and I run 18*

Bore: 4.560
Stroke: 4.250
Compression: 13.86
Dish/Dome CC: 17cc
RPM Peak Power: 8100
Chamber size: 89cc
NOS Jet Area: 56.6
Number/Type of NOS solenoids: 2 sportsman Foggers
Current timing that you run: 32* Initial 28* with NOS

Can you clarify the jet area? Or just tell me which jets you are running...thanks!

My bad, I gave the fuel side.. The NOS jet is a .022" or .062" square area.. Is that what your looking for?

I don't have very many combos to go from, but the formula now shows that a safe baseline timing number to be 15* on 1 kit. I've added a formula to calculate HP also and it shows 1141 fwhp (NA) for that combo and 1593 fwhp on 1 stage. Shows it running 5.06 @ 141 @ 3200 lbs. Give me your actual weight and I'll see what it shows.
