What is the standard thread size for common coil spring compressors? Appears to be 5/8-10 ACME threads, but this particular thread size seems relatively uncommon in terms of ACME threads. I need to remake the threaded rod for my spring compressor, as it's not long enough to sufficiently compress the taller drag race-style springs.

5/8-8 seems to be more common, but MSC has 5/8-10, only available in 3' long lengths, #00277152, shows $90.17 in my catalog. If you order from them alot, demand a promo on the price, sometimes they will lower the price,

Grab a spring compressor from a parts store and just use the bottom pair of hooks. Fits right through the shock shaft hole in the frame. I used a bearing off of a P/s pulley puller/installer. Works great. Like this one.
