"PRO MODIFIEDS HEADLINE FOX HUNT TWO-NIGHT DOUBLE THROWDOWN EVENT – JUNE 22-23"

One of the most anticipated Summer-time events has to be the annual Fox Hunt presented by Little Caesars Pizza. It’s always been a fan and racer favorite, but this year’s race will definitely be one terrific weekend of fun. This year’s event will feature the fastest Blown and Nitrous Doorslammers in the West dukin’ it out on both Friday and Saturday night under the lights. They’re billed as simply the: “Wildest, Most Unpredictable and downright Outrageous” DRAG RACING CLASS on planet earth.

The early line-up for this year’s West Coast Outlaw Pro Modified Association point’s race (the first of two events at Firebird this summer, along with the Nightfire in August) includes the likes of every front-line team in the association. It will mark their first opportunity to earn points in their 2012 chase. The event will offer two qualifying runs (one on Friday night and a second on Saturday afternoon), along with an open 8-car eliminator. It’s an understatement at best, but we guarantee that the upper pits are going to be jam-packed with 240 mile per hour Pro Modifieds, along with Jets and the Outlaw Wheelstander. In addition, the Fox Hunt has always been one of biggest Gold Cup point’s events of the year with back-to-back days of point’s competition. Super Pro, Pro, Sled/Bike, Sportsman, Nostalgia and Fox eliminator presented by the Naughty Girls club will be the key categories offered in the Boise Muffler Gold Cup chase.

Make your plans today (block your work schedule) for this very special weekend as Pro Mods, Jets, the Outlaw Wheelstander, Gold Cup racing and YOU take part in one of most anticipated events of 2012!

"FOX HUNT FEATURES OPENING RACE IN WEST COAST OUTLAW PRO MODIFIED TOUR"

Not many will disagree with the fact that one of the all-time fan favorites at Firebird is the Pro Modified class. Dating back to the mid-80’s, the blown and nitrous doorslammers have been a staple on the Firebird track schedule for over a quarter century.

Making their first appearance of the season at Firebird, the Outlaw Pro Modifieds will compete on both June 22-23 at the Little Caesars Pizza Fox Hunt and then again on August 10-12 at the Pepsi Nightfire. The race will feature a key point’s stop in West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association. An open 8-car field will be contested as qualifying will take place at 7 pm on Friday night, 2:30 pm on Saturday afternoon and first round to blast off at 6:30 pm on Saturday night.

It might be an overstated phrase, but in all honesty, the current early pre-entry roster includes the absolute “best in the west” in doorslammer racing. The event will be headed up by reigning Pepsi Nightfire champion Rod Burbage and quite an array of other front line teams. Image above provided by Gary Himes Photography.

All we can say is you’d better hang onto your hats because this is guaranteed to be one double throwdown affair in less than two weeks.

Toss in the 270 mile per hour Jet Funny Cars of the “Warhawk” and “Warped Speed” and the wheelstanding Jelly Belly Fire Truck wheelstander of Ed Jones and you certainly have the makings of one incredible weekend of fun.

In addition, the race will offer two of the biggest days of the season in the Boise Muffler Gold Cup Series. Best of all, two separate races will be contested on Friday and Saturday evening in Super Pro, Pro, Sled/Bike, Sportsman, Nostalgia and the special Fox eliminator presented by the Naughty Girls club. Saturday’s event will also be the third stop (of four) in the Division 6 Land of the Leader point’s chase.
