You can’t run a 10.5 without a “major tuner?”
Kind of my thought, and this isn't directed at anyone in particular.

But I think if the tuner isn't on premise and you're not racing may be a bigger issue with the class than anything else.

Guys remote in for PDRA, remote in for the 100K race in Denver. But 10.5 guys(no one in particular) wont race there monthly deal with out paid help.

I would like to clear up a few things, and give an update on the direction of the class as far as the series goes. We are not "done" with PDRA, and they are not "done" with Outlaw 10.5. The PDRA has been very supportive of the Outlaw 10.5 class for the past 5 seasons, and continues to be supportive of the class running with the PDRA. The class has had some issues for the past few years, some of which are:

1: The identity of the class (10.5 tire vs. 315 Radial)
2: The progression of the rules, mostly regarding current cars being built around the country for all classes/crossover
3: The number of races per season
4: Payouts, and maybe paybacks

Part off the problem towards the end of the season is a run of races beginning in September, and ending in November. Too close together, and multiple day races.

These issues are being discussed with all of the parties involved, and we hope that we can have a positive impact in helping the class continue to grow.

Jerry what do you think about only allowing a 275 tire to bring the radial back closer to the 33X10.5W bias tire? It should be right at a tenth slower than the 315 tire at the same weight.

I certainly hope it isn’t the end . I see Kaspers has 2 cars , Quick Nick , Benson Jr , Hall . Copson , newsham , Scoritino, 69 pro charged camaro , Thompson , Lambert , Gorman , Morgano Caracini, and I’m sure missing a few that all have bad ass competitive cars . I really enjoy the class . Get to support it at Cecil every time they run .

This is an example of racer competitiveness and innovation ruining a good thing. Maybe not ruining it, but.....
Now the cars are high dollar.
Hired tuners are common.
Costs are prohibitive for additional competitors to want to join in a class that is pretty mature already. The 10.5 was certainly meant to limit these cars, and here they are running 3.80's. I have bounced around the idea of starting a club race of open bodied cars heads up on 10.5's. I figured certainly that would tighten things up and allow smaller engine combos to be competitive, and make additional rules not needed. hell if these full chassis door cars are going 3.80's, cars that are 500 lbs lighter could be bumping their heads on the sanctioning body's et limit.
These 10.5 cars are something else. Amazing.
