I guess I had a late night night when I assembled my TH400 trans and I installed the boost valve in the bushing backwards. I put about 20 runs on the trans (TCI brake that I didn't use) and it worked but felt a little funny. I had about a 400 rpm flare going 2-3 but 1-2 worked fine.

Last night I was putting the motor back in and decide to pull the trans pump to take a look first. Sure enough I find the boost valve was backwards. I corrected it and put it back together.

My question is will having done this damage anything? The motor is back in and I'm going racing next weekend. Also will the the backwards boost valve cause a 2-3 flare, is that normal or is that another problem?

Thanks in advance.

I can't believe it even worked. I want to say you have damaged something but only you will know by checking the oil pan for debris and smelling the oil. If its ok then I would say you have dodged a bullet.
