car is a 81 camaro, stock suspension car, moly 8.50 cage, not much has been gutted out. full interior, so im not sure on the weight of the car right now.
I do have a cheater plate for the motor. I would like to spray it some, not worried about gaining maximum ET on spray.

just wondering if this is more of a motor cam or nitrous cam?

ok, this cam was spec'd by comp cam. for this combo engine/car.

what would you change?

previous owner only took the car out 1 time and made 3 passes. best of 10.22 @ 135

Put the cam in on a 107 intake centerline.

Its not gonna be happy on a big hit.... But itll work ok with 100-200 shot on a plate.

Or if your interested it can be used as a core and reground to something a bit more friendly.

I like Crane and Comp, so I will list one from each I would use if it was kept N/A which sounds like you prefer, plus you need all the help you can get to accelerate the car. Wide lobe center will have a high mph for the et in some cases.

Comp
2223/4260 lobe numbers
283/293 @.020" tappet lift
254/260 @.050" tappet lift
177/174 @.020" tappet lift
.741"/.728" valve lift with 1.7's before lash
.016"/.018" lash
107° lobe center

Crane
282/290 @.020" tappet lift
252/258 @.050" tappet lift
177/175 @.200" tappet lift
.759"/.717" valve lift with 1.7's before lash
.012"/.022" lash
107° lobe center

I was bout to say the same. Definitely not a purpose built nitrous cam, but it should tolerate a smaller shot for sure.

A 150 hit used early will help make up for some of the inefficiency of having a higher strung combo like that in a relatively heavy car.

If you are on a budget, this would give you the time to science out what you need to make it right and then eventually buy what you need while still getting use out of it in the meantime.

thanks for the help guys.

as of right now im not planning on changing the cam. just curious as to what some more experienced guys thought about it. this is just a temporary car that I will be racing while Im building my chevelle. I will be running it mostly on motor but maybe once a month put a 150-200 hp through the plate. im not worried about how much it will pick up, just gonna have fun with this car.

now this winter might be a different story, lol I just dont want to put alot of money into it, all my money will be going into the chevelle.

thanks for the replies.

Yes the compression is 14:1.
This combo has already ran 10.20's with out any tuning. Only had 3 passes on it.
