I have a thread over on my other forum for this so I figured I will put it on the Big Racing Forum here at YB so I can be Trashed for it....LOL
Before anyone Says "Why build this?".....or "Its a Tank".....or "Cute Minivan Mom" Just know....I already know or have heard it..I am doing it for me...and for the TBSS Community...Just because I can.
This has been a long time coming and still a long way from completion, but its starting to move along rapidly and with that I am starting to get pics of things as they are changing. This will be a simple thread with random pics and some info on the build, nothing professional or well thought out in the thread....Ill just post what I have as I have it.
The Goal originally was to build an Extreme outlaw 8.5 TBSS to run in a local series and to run in the Major LS Events like the LSX shootouts and LS Fest in Bowling Green KY. The truck didn't make LS Fest this year nor will it run in the 8.5 Series. I am now shooting to try to make it to MIR for the Import vs. Domestic Race. Along the way during the Build and with some of the parts I acquired the truck has slowly evolved out of being an 8.5 limited Trim Truck to an X275 Type Trim Truck. The Ultimate Goal with this truck is to put it in the 8's and to be the first documented TBSS to do so. I don't know if it will make it there, but we will surely do our best to make it happen.
At the beginning I acquired a Basically Stock Chassis 07 TBSS to begin the process on. I completely stripped the truck to a Shell and immediately sent it out to have an 8.50 Certified Roll Cage Installed. Upon Receiving the truck back from the Cage builder and before it even came off the Trailer, it was Taken to Gary Rohe Racecars in Indiana to have many upgrades and modifications completed including more cage additions, new custom rear end setup, and other items needed to be legal for the projected ET I want the truck to run. While there I continued to purchase and acquire parts for the build and also added more work for Gary to do including all of my turbo piping, Engine mounting and some lightening measures to try to get rid of some dead and un-needed weight on the truck. These trucks are pigs and even in race trim, we expect this to be no exception. The truck is currently Back in my hands for driveline and wiring installation before it goes back to Gary Rohe to tidy up a few loose ends and add anything else I need before the upcoming Race in November. We started on this last weekend for re-installing interior components and re-wiring the entire truck from the ground up. I will then have to get it to the tuner, tuned and tested all before Nov. 1st. Its going to be a challenge, but here we go.
