tapered carb spacers

Ok folks, lets hear the good, the bad, an the ugly as it relates to the use of the tapered carb spacers like the HVH Super Sucker and the Wilson Manifolds spacers.

I'm considering testing one against my current (likely not optimal for the combination) 1" open spacer on a Vic jr intake, 454 bbc in a 3580 lb car.

Would like to hear any and all feedback on the usage of these spacers.

From other posts in the past, I've read that the results vary greatly from no change to as much as .15 in ET.

Also, if possible, mention what height spacer was used and what it was compared against.

Thanks for any input
Todd

Well, by the info I recieved, some pick up with the tapered spacer, so do not. It sounds like the only way to know for sure it to test it with your setup.

I ordered a Wilson 1" tapered spacer and hope to test it this Saturday. I'm expecting it to take a few outings to truly see any gains/losses, but I will report back any generalizations or conclusions on the 1" tapered vs the 1" open on my setup.
Spacer came in Friday, scheduled to race with the MSRA in the DOT class Saturday and was planning to test the spacer after a few baseline runs. The weather had different plans with all of us racers sitting from 11:00am till 4:00 pm when the plug was pulled from on and off rain showers all afternoon.

Gonn a try and test this Friday or Saturday before the next RAM Racing N/A series event which is this Sunday the 4th at US13 in Delmar, Delaware.

I'll report back once we get back on track
