PAO Synthetic oil's are never a waste of money.
These will handle heat better than any mineral of the same viscosity.

And some info on Hydraulic vs Trans specific fluid. http://dpffluids.com/article_info.php?articles_id=1
I love this statement they make...

" We never understood why racers will spend their hard earned money to get the latest performance parts for their car whether it be a new set of heads, trick pistons, billet crank or the latest trick transmission or rear end- all in the name of going fast and winning. Then, they buy the cheapest fluids they can find and expect all the trick parts to perform at peak level and survive."

I only put AMSOIL racing ATF in mine it's never cooked since I started using it and I beat on my shit harder and longer than most in the world and that's not an exaggeration. AMSOIL has NEVER given me product or even sold direct to me.

Here is what Rossler recommends for their racing transmission, at various horsepower levels..

Note what they suggest in the highest power applications..
