Due to extremely wet ground conditions in the sportsman pit area, Super Comp,
Super Stock, Stock and Super Gas will not compete at Maple Grove Raceway during the Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals this weekend. Those four categories will be contested next week, Oct. 7-8, at the facility with parking starting on Thursday, time runs on Friday and eliminations on Saturday.
Competition Eliminator, Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol
Funny Car and all four of the categories in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing
Series, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Pro Stock, Funny Car and Top Fuel will compete at
Maple Grove Raceway this weekend.
The 10K Footbrake Nationals, originally scheduled for Oct. 8, will now be held Sunday, Oct. 23.

smart move , back in 06 Nhra made us sit in the field for 3 days in the rain before they called the race . If there were 100 rigs out there , 80 had to be towed out including myself. There was mud everywhere.

That's the year Scotty Cannon was trying to figure out how to build a bridge across the ditch between the motorhome parking area by the sand pit and the road so he could get out without getting stuck in the mud bog between where we were parked and the only entrance to that area. He was also trying to figure out if he could make it up a ramp high enough to jump the ditch. I think he was kidding...:finga:

The NHRA will begin Friday’s round of the Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals at 10 a.m. with Competition Eliminator, followed by the first round of Top Alcohol qualifying.
Comp Eliminator will then come back for another round as will the TA cars before the first round of Pro qualifying at 2 p.m.
The second round of Pro qualifying will be at 4:45 p.m.

last year they called us to the lanes for our first time run on fri , water started coming up thru the track , we sat in the lanes for 2 hours , then got sent back to our trailers because pro stock was coming out

I hate to see Comp. go down a cold racetrack first thing in the morning. I hope they take the track prep seriously or they will wad up some iron this weekend!

i was 1 of the poor bastards who sat in a holding lot for 3 days waiting for them to make a call on this. i understand they had to do it due to the weather. that was out of their control, but i wish they had made the call much earlier. i mean they knew there was an issue with the pit parking, that's why the holding area was moved to an outlet mall parking lot. so why drag it out so long. there were nearly 200 rigs parked there. i spent around 400.00 bucks for fuel on this trip multiply that by 200 rigs. that alot of money waisted, just becuase nhra and maple grove dragged their feet on this one. i'm very disapointed that the poeple running the show have no regard for waisting our already taxed racing budgets.

Dont know if nhra or the grove made that decision, but the grove has been known to make wierd decisions. If it was to muddy to park last sat, and there was rain coming, were they really expecting it to dry?
