I seem to have lots of time on my hands now a days and want to keep busy so i am thinking about stripping my car down as much as possible, not sure if i should take it all the way down to bare metal.

so here are my questions.

The metal on the car is perfect, no major dents that are going to be filled or pulled is it necessary to take it down to bare metal?

How do i prep/strip the Bumper covers.... do i just use some elbow grease and sand paper or do they have to go to a media blaster? the paint is partiall flaking on the bumpers?

Doesn't sound like it needs stripping to bare steel to me.Bumpers, how much flaking is there?? If its not bad,or is in 1or2 spots because of a small accident you may be able to just sand, then prime the spots. Lets hear how bad there flaking!!! DR.

not to bad, looks like it was due to heat, it's more of popped bubbles than huge flaking.
