Both.. But mostly foot braking.. I Have trouble hooking off the transbrake on an unprepped track.

One brother has a 69 Camaro: BBC. w/ Doug Nash 5 speed. Runs 6.9's.
30 YEARS flogging the same stock 12bolt. On top of that, one axle is bent....just a little, but it's bent.

The other brother has a car too...not as fast...but it has a COOL nine inch.
In 2 YEARS -
-broke axle
-broke posi
-broke main cap
-broke pinion support
-broke gear set

Guess which brother I am?

Seriously, in pure stock form a lot of people feel the 12 bolts is tops. In an 11 second, automatic car your stocker would be fine judging from our experience.

my friend nova with bbc has transbreak with 12 bolt posse stock axles runs 7.00 in 1/8 mile

if you have c clip elimins your prob using after market axles, so their pretty strong-i have run in the high 9's with the Moser kit, 3900 lb chevelle
best deal is pull the rear, use the Moser or other small GM housing ends, enlarge your stock rear brakes to 3.150 or whatever it is, then you can run 33 spline, maybe go to 35, cant remember-
also eliminates the hassel if you have to pull the axles, reseal, etc
