got a 750 dp which I cannot seem to get idle below 1200 rpm, checked for hrs for vacumn leak and nothing so took carb off, primary blades there is no gape around but secondarys have day light even with adjuster right off. is this bad casting any ideas

What's stopping the secondary blades from closing?
I would take the base plate off and inspect it. If need be loosen and reset the secondary blades.

can u push the secondarys shut? if so just put another wrap in the spring. if they wont shut easily then u have a bent shaft, warped casting, or mis adjusted blade.

cant seem to get them to shut at all, will have base plate off, can you adjust blade wondering if there not centred so hitting one side early

Probably backfired. I've seen this happen. Much easier to replace base. the removal and straightening of the shaft is not for the novice. .

If the shaft is bent you can get replacement parts from BLP. Shaft, plates, screws, gaskets...

Check the pri. to sec. link for being too short.

put a bigger cam in the engine and it'll be idled about right at 1200rpm

X2^^^That's what I was thinking....You need to check that.

If that's not it, you can try loosening the 2 screws on the blades just alitte bit, then snap the throttle a couple times to re-center the blades up in the bore and re-tighten......
