Hello
I am welding up the steering shaft for my car. I have street u-joints from Borgenson and I am a little nervous about bolting through to connect the steering assembly
I have welding together everything, but I have to be able to have one joint removable
Am I just getting a little too nervous on this, or does someone have a neat way of doing this? pics? I have limited room before I hit the headers
This is to be a street car as well. I realize race cars are bolted together with a smaller u joint
This is a smooth .750 dia shaft with no spline or locking detent on the shaft
thanks

I used Flaming River joints on my set up w/ DD steering shaft. Flaming's have a set screw on them & I drilled slightly into the shaft for the set screw to hold & used lock tight on the screw

Thanks for your speedy reply. I went to the Flaming River site and saw how they connected their street u joints in a tight spot
I will do the same . Thanks again for your help

I bolted a couple joints on my steering shafts for removal using a Grade 8 bolt. I already had the U-joints but if I did it over I'd probably use the double "D" joints and double "D" shaft.
