67 Caprice tube chassis car, 2100 pounds less engine and trans, guessing around 3200 all said and done. What is a starting place for springs? All coilovers. Was thinking 350s in the front and 225s in the rear? 4 link rear suspension.

I would dummy it up and order springs after I had the car completely finished and on the scales with driver weight. The 225s for the rear sound stiff.

All chassis will be different, but a general rule of thumb is to use the lightest spring that will support the weight.

All will depend on what length spring you can use.14 or 10 inch will be no where the same.Get car scaled with a starting place is all you can do.You will find with cheaper shocks like viking etc that what ever spring they recommend they wont be valved correctly anyway.We learned along time ago,get a shock dyno and figure out how to valve your own shocks.We run all penske or lamb components now.If you dont get great components it wont matter anyway.I have never saw over 125 lbs work on the back of anything yet.We have never been 350 on frt in anything .Even 3600 lb sleds.

We have 3200 lb bbc car.175 on frt 100 rear.Again all depends on spring length.That car runs 4.27 best w nitrous.If you look up spring recs or call the telephone shock wizards they will start you way heavier,then their shocks will not control that amount of spring rate.Great shocks is what make a car a hitter or not.Hp should be 4th on list but everyone gets it backwards
