"I think"?

不 不 不
There was a restrictor plate race where 302 Fords were used in place of the 358.
The 302 was not as restricted due to less displacement.
That gave them a substantial advantage......

Nascar stepped in and said no more 302 Fords or chevies.
They then put rules into place that controlled deck height and displacement.

If you think the C8 looks better than the older front engine Corvette's you might want to buy new glasses!!
You think late 70s LTDs are hot. Phuck you know.

I dare you to post a link...how's that...
Just go back to the time frame that I mentioned and enjoy.

I asked that very question to several people.
Elliot and Robert Yates were two of them.

302 derived anything was banned regardless of CID.
The less displacement gave a unfair advantage with restrictor plates.
The much less weight gave a unfair advantage on short tracks and road courses.

221 - 302 engine family was banned by mandating deck height and displacement rules.

This also applied to gm on the displacement rule and nascar shot them down about
using a shorter deck height.

So your answer to posting facts, is by telling people to somehow go back in time?
Seriously man, I see nothing to back up what you're saying.

Nope! 310 based off the 302 straight from the Trans Am program.

Yes, nascar banned the 302 Ford!

I always thought Ernie Elliot was the one that did that. I remember a dust up at Talladega when Bill showed up with a dominant restrictor plate car that was around 330cuin. Nascar mandated a minimum cuin for the next restrictor race. Just a fan though so I could be wrong.

PM him Erik...he's a fan boy and has posted plenty in this thread.

No. You can use a 9.5 or 9.2 windsor Cleveland deck. No one can use under 9 so 8.2 is out.So you couldnt use 302 even if you wanted to
Exactly. Maybe Erik-427 should stop trying to pretend they were trying to hold Ford back with this rule.
