fire resistant and retardant suits are only able to be washed so many times...

you need to contact g force and see what they reccommend to clean their products with....

I have a head sock that has the same problem. Smelly as hell from day 1 - my solution...stop wearing it. No more smelly head sock.

Seriously though - what do you prefer, smelly clothes or extra crispy?

If you have to G-Forces' site recommends cold water, mild soap & hang it to dry. No dry cleaning and only when the suit is really in need.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you supposed to clean it before using it. Something about settling the dye on the suit.

Same here, hand wash & hang to dry. Not that big of a deal, add a small amount of downy with small amount of detergent and clean em up hang 'em out.

DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER! Read the label. "Do not use on fire retardant clothing."

I wash in cold water, hand wash or delicate setting, and use the mildest soap I can and not much of it. I do dry in the dryer. I also try not to wash the stuff very often..only as needed.

That's Proban, which I'm sure is what G-Force uses (it's cheaper than Nomex). Proban is chemically treated to be fire retardant. Nomex is permanently fire retardant.
