About a year and half ago I went to load the smart car up and it wouldn’t start, dead battery. So I charged it up but it wasn’t like the security system had me locked out so I pulled the battery cables off and next day put them on it started right up with no more issues. Well it’s done it again except this time it won’t start. The key won’t even lock or unlock doors. Put the key in ignition and turn itinerary the lights in the dash just blink, it beeps when you try to start it. Any ideas on how to get this thing back going?

Have to relearn the transmission. Did you get it running yet? I can help you if not.

Incase you didn’t get it running this should do the trick for you.


1. Push down and hold the brake
2. Turn key to on (#1 position)
3. Shift from P-R-N-D manually, then shift back D-N-R-P
4. Turn key off
5. Start car
