shift lite set at 7200 and never goes off car launchs great (1.32) its a tci converter #254015 was told it should stall about 5700 but its going way over that (combo bbc 400 trans 4:10 gear 29 tire 3000lbs) motor makes peak tq at 5700 on dyno what should I get the next converter set at?

Get the exact stall speed with it in your car, then get it back and tightened up.

Find out exactly where it stalls now... Run down the road in 3rd gear cruising 40 or so and mash it. See how high the tach jumps.

STOP!! Take the three step chip out. Warm up the car. Hold the transbrake and mash the gas. Thats your stall. If the shift light is setup lower than the stall speed it's never going to turn off going down the race track till you either lift or it spits the bones out.

Call up FTI at 866-726-8358 and tell them you talked to me. They will get you straightened out. Absolutely baddest stuff out there and they can get your brand converter to the proper specs and have you racing again very quickly. Usually three days by the time they get the converter. Then it's on the brown truck headed your way. Plus it's very reasonable to have a converter swapped over to their specs for your combination.
