wasn't sure where to post this question but thought this was as good a spot as any.
went out last week and as I went thru tech, inspector told me my belts were out dated because the original tag was punched 08. I showed him the recert tag which is punched 2013. I explained to him that when I bought them I was told they had been recertified and new date was included on the new tag and good until 2013.

He explained to me that that was only a gimmick and the belts need to be replaced and if I came back without replacing them I would not be allowed to run.

Is this right or is he full of s--t. can they be recertified? don't want to buy another set if I don't have to. I just bought these last winter.

Sending belts back to the mfg. to be re certified means the

fabric part of the belt assembly IS replaced with new material,

and the is then tagged with a new certification expiration date/SFI tag.

You should NOT have a belt with TWO (2) SFI tags

Hope this helps...
