Radial vs slick, leaf spring vs 4 link, etc.

What are the actual differences in force needed to manage the different applications? Not shock settings

People throw around terms like "radial valving" but how does the force applied (comp, ext) differ from what would be used on other applications?

For example, managing and maintaining extension on a radial tire is quite important, and leaf spring cars will generally extend at the hit on either tire. How much difference would there be in the force profiles needed for a radial tire application vs leaf spring slick car?
