GOT A QUESTION? WHATS THE BEST STROKE ROD LENGTH AND BORE FOR A 421 SBC CHEVY...WITH A TURBO... I KNOW THERE IS DIFFERENT WAYS TO GET THIS CI. BUT IM LOOKING FOR THE BEST WAY..ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREAT......THANKS..
I would prefer a 4.080 bore by 4.1 stroke not that you can do it with a stock block. I like the gasket strength of the smaller bores.
I would also prefer to see a shorter rod ratio like 1.5 or so. Getting the piston speed up helps VE and Exhuast scevenging and also greatly reduces the odds for detonation.
I wouldn't do it in the stock block, a tall deck sure.
I agree the whole long rod is bunk for power adder motors. Rods are used to connect the piston to the crank. (period)
Bore size is important to keep gaskets in (under) the head.
