Wanting to run a class that I will run nitrous, my question is. Raised runner heads,18* and 15* heads carry 125lbs penalty. Can different head make enough to compensate for the penalty. What kind of extra power would need to be made running in the 1/8 To compensate Engine is 434 ci; 13.8:1

Plug your numbers in here and see what works best for you... Wallace Racing - Automotive Calculators

On my truck 125 pounds is right at .15 in the quarter... and 50 HP is comparable.

RCM, that’s it exactly. It has the afr 245 heads on it that have been gone over by 2 very capable head guys. Both came out of the Brandywine Cylnder head days. You probably know who I’m talking about see from were your at. The class only allows a 40 jet and must weigh 3000 lbs with a low port. Not sure if I could make enough extra power to carry that weight with a rr head. What kind of real power could be had and what power would really be needed to compensate running in the 5.0-4.90 range.

All I know is the old Dart/Buick heads could have easily carried 125# penalty against a good set of 23 degree bow ties. 3.5 tenths better in the 1/8th mile. A good set of 15 degree is probably .5 to .6 better. 125# would be a gimme in my opinion. Go with the low valve angle stuff.
