Goforths Racing with Heavy Hearts

The Extreme Pro Stock teams of Dean and Cary Goforth received some serious news just before heading toward Valdosta, Georgia, from their Holdenville, Oklahoma, home for the ADRL Hardee’s Georgia Drags VI.
“We come into Valdosta with heavy hearts, as we lost our grandfather Leo Fish this morning,” current Extreme Pro Stock points leader Cary Goforth (right) says. “We will be racing this weekend with him in mind; we know he will be watching over us and smiling.”
Despite the family’s loss, Goforth insists a 2010 ADRL world championship remains on his mind and those of his teammates.
“We want to win a championship, whether its me or Dean (his father); we come to the track confident that we can compete with anyone that shows up,” Goforth says. “The Extreme Pro Stock series in ADRL has shown some great racing and we are knocking on the door of the first three-second passes to the eighth mile.
“You just can not help but be excited at the level of competition here in the ADRL,” he adds. “We were able to win some races last year, and put both of our cars in the end of the season Battle of the Belts, and while winning races is nice, we want a championship.”
Goforth Racing also has added some new sponsors to its race family.
“We need to thank them for having confidence in our team,” Goforth says. “LAT Oil, XS Power Batteries, Sonny’s Racing Engines, Access Employer Services, and Deans Casing Service—without the support of these sponsors none of this would be possible.”
