Well since its the new thing to do i guess ill give the turbo stuff a try;). I have a small block (little m) 400 with dart cast 230's, super vic intake, all the goodies. The car is a 81 malibu 3300# with me in it, 400 turbo tbrake and 3.50's in the rear. The car is on nitrous as of now best pass is 6.4 @112 looking to improve this quite a bit. Im not sure if the s500 would benfit over the s400 for my build. what do you guys think.

What is the HP and or ET goal? That will determine which one to go with.

The 500 will make more power, but if something in the 400 series meets/exceeds your goals then go with that. There is a sizable weight/size/price difference between the two, as in the 500 is bigger, heavier (20+lb) and more expensive.

Just for example, I use a box stock BW S480 (80mm) on a 355 sbc and have been 5.44 in the 1/8 and 8.50 in the 1/4, weighing 3,545lbs. And thats a turbo tthat can be had for around $1,000.

Just be honest with your goals and pick the turbo based on your goals.

Well hp goal is about 1, 300 I will have a e85 blow trough with about 10:5:1. im leaning towards the s400 I've seen lots of people on here use them. And for the price you csnt beat it.

Turbine of the 400 will choke up on 400 inches trying to make 1300. Get the 500 or a GT55
