small block chevy, dart block and a s480 turbo. what crank and rods to use? compstar? eagle? better? I'm on a budget, but can't buy a good block and load it with crap either. 3.75 stroke max if it makes a . thanks for the help.

Pat, I went with a Callies Magnum crank, 3.750 stroke.

I think for around $900 to $1000 you can get a pretty nice crank. I think the Howards crankshafts are basically a Rebadged Callies from what I hear.

howards are machined by callies. still good cranks. i am using a callies magnum with compstar sd i beam rods. budget mined howards stuff does good just make you there high dollar rods.

I was thinking H beam rods for strength, I know they weight more but I need it to last. any sugestions on rods?
