depends on how the rocker broke. sounds like valve float to me.

Never have dropped a valve due to rocker breakage. Not saying it couldn't happen, maybe something else going on in addition to that.

I've seen it the other way around more often. Valve breaks, gets stuck in guide and then rocker breaks next time around.

The rocker broke then pushed the retainer down? Never even heard of such a thing.....If that rocker is broke its gone, its off, its bent away, its gained lash or clearence.....It definately dont have the ability to push down on the retainer. Sounds like either improper clearencing or valve float. The valve hit the piston and something had to give, or a lifter broke and seized in bore, again something stopped and something had to give.

I bent one a few years back, but it didn't break. Sounds like something in the valvetrain was upset if it did that.

if the wheel came off it could pop the locks off...exspecially one of the cheaper rockers with the huge wheels..
