Just curious if anyone has used "the Right Stuff" RTV on the exhaust of a motor. I put my adapter plates on last night, and without putting much thought into it that is what i used. I looked on permatex's website and they say its good for 450*F continous and 500*F spikes in temp. Should i go back and re-do it with copper RTV? That stuff is rated to 700*F on permatex's site fyi.

I would. Its good stuff but doesn't like the heat.

I use the red high temp rtv.

I'd vote for Ultra-Copper or Ultra-Black.

i just did mine up with the ultra copper...great results

I just cleaned some heads with it all over the exhaust, held up well but it was an alcohol motor, probably 1100 degree max egts

i have the right stuff sealing up my headers to the head on my bbc turbo setup, never had a problem.
