4.12 @ 188 the first run ever on 10.5's, and 1.04 4.00 @ 194 by the fourth run, but unfortunately fought transmission issues all through the next 2 races. Definitely not easy, definitely not as fast as the radial, but I think we could have made some noise
I'm sure you guys will knock it outta the park. Absolutely no doubt about that.. but these tires are simply tougher to get down the track.. from tuning all the way to driving.. as you now know.. :p

I would think it would be close to running NMCA events and we have run a good number of 3.9x passes and 4.00s all day. If you look at the fast 10.5 passes it seems they stick the tire like a radial anyhow. But I am just a no talent radial tuner haha, so what do I know.
What's all that black rubber those 10.5 guys are leaving on the track? :-D

woody just went 3.96 in outlaw 10.5 trim, which is about a tenth and change of his radial numbers
There were two competitive radial cars at SCSN. Woody(who switched back to the radial) and Mike Keenan. Neither of them were around for the final. The prep matters but the radial tires aren't slugs on non-radial prepped surfaces. That said these are two different classes and should be run as two different classes.

I agree the tire has its own class and should stay that way in my opinion!Vegas track is one of those tracks that is always has a good prepped track so a radial tire would have a bit of advantage if they tried to lay the coals to it ,not sure about Woodys down low numbers but Keenan was 115-119 sixty foot on his passes! That car was making some steam at the 330 and on :)

Keenan's 60' was 1.122 in quarterfinals against me.

Yep, which kinda shows you whats going on between the slick and radial.
- Woody shows up with slicks and wheelie bars ready to run 10.5, Made a couple passes, couldn't figure it out(for whatever reason) and went back to the radial and did well in qualy[/QUOte

Yep. It's hard to believe there aren't enough true Outlaw 10.5 cars to field the class but since I'm not an East Coast racer my input doesn't carry any weight out there. I was pissed at Mel for including them at SCSN. Many of the other racers were too. The Canadians especially. They haul down several cars every years and really support the race. We'll see if that continues now.

Bob I'm pretty sure that big majority of 10.5 cars from Pacific NW will not haul to Vegas next year if Mel allows radial tire again.
