One advantage to the cup on the pushrod is it will hold some oil in it and can have bronze insert to help stop burning up pushrod tips. Most don't have that issue so the cups aren't needed.

All of my Jesel rockers have the cup on the adjuster. This seems to be what most use. My engine see's near 9 k rpm and has triple springs .800 lift at the rocker. 320 seat and about 950 open. Never any issue with the push rod tips. You have to run good oil. I use Lightning racing oil in my engines. No passenger car oil.
