^^ Some patriot heads for cheap bare, put valves/springs/locks/retainers etc. in it and you'll have a SOLID head for less than most new high end heads.Making 450- 500hp with the 185's wouldnt be hard to do, N/A.
They are a very good head for the money.
Patriot Performance Heads aren't bad for the money either.
You could buy them bare, have them cleaned up and assembled by a local shop for your application.
You've heard about their valve springs issues though, right? Weak as fuck from the factory...I heard some edelbrock tech guy say they're really not suited for cams over .500 lift. They're an answer for the cheap chinese heads apparently.Yeah there are TONS of option... The new edelbrock e-tec heads are a great budget option.
What stroker kit is under 800$? I've seen some new probe rotating assemblies for like 950$ shipped, but that's the cheapest.go with a 347 stroker kit(under $800), AFR heads, 10-10.5:1 compression.
You won't have to turn it as hard to make power.
You can go hydraulic flat tappet and make 425hp @ 6,000, or 460hp @ 6,500
or go solid flat tappet or Hyd roller, and make 500hp @ 6,500
