As some of you know I have started building some G3 Hemi engines. This project is based on putting a G3 Hemi in my 88 Mustang coupe. As most of my projects do it has spiraled out of control and gone from a street car to drive to work a few days a week to a serious build going after the Modern Hemi Shootout Outlaw class and possibly even Drag Week. This turn in direction has caused me to begin building a 25.2/25.3 chassis as 7.50 with a 25.5 will not be enough to run the car flat out. I have not abandoned the daily driver idea as I have a second hemi that will be 426 cuin and be much more street friendly. I have another coupe or I have become pretty interested in a early Dodge Dakota that is a bit more practical and probably the direction the other build will go. This thread will be about the 400 cuin hemi.

If you would like a one owner 99 Dakota rt extended cab let me know. :)
I appreciate the offer but if I use a Dakota for the 426 it will definitely be an early Gen1. If nothing else for the lighter weight but I honestly like the more plain body lines.

1.75/1.75 8500-9000. I had the rockers made with ball adjusters to give them more strength. Valves are both 8mm. 2.200" Ti intake valve and 1.650" inconel exhaust valve. Cam will be .850-.900 lift range no final specs yet. Waiting to see how the Thitek heads come out.

Another piece of the puzzle showed up yesterday. Man!! These rods look like jewelry everytime I get a set. MGP's machine work finish is second to none. Mirror finish with no tool marks is tough to achieve. Hopefully pistons are almost ready to ship.
