Heres my delima:

I have an NX twin gemini plate that will spray 300 but I don't have the suspension to hold 300 out of the hole and the track usually wont hold it either.

So, should I buy a 2 stage plate and spray 150 and then another 150 or buy a progressive and ramp the 300 in? Any pros or cons of a progressive over a 2 stage plate?

In MY experiences I have had good success with the NOS, Jacobs, Edelbrock, and Schnitz progressives(never owned any of the others) and, admittidly I currently run a Schnitz Box on my street car, but at the end of the day I like to keep things simple as possible. Those electronics are nice and i'm sure everyone has their favorite brand/model but in my opinion they all have the potential to fail at worst possible moment(and not just mechanically). On the other hand if you look on just about any(if not all) record holders running nitrous you'll see a progressive in the car/truck. I think most would probably agree they are all hard on solenoids(even with the correct plungers) when you pulse them but we usually just put the spray at 100% and use the timer as the tuning aid and haven't had any problems with solenoid life using out of the box NOS solenoids. A friend of mine is currently running a two stage NOS Cheater system with two seperate Cheater Plates stacked with a cross pattern configuration on single holley Dominator with Edelbrock Controller. Have tried both approaches"pulsing" the solenoids as well as with the above configuration, and best time so far is 5 teens on the first stage with the timer only, no second stage yet! I'm sure others will have differing opinions which is wonderful! Just what I have found!

I have both. I run a plate and fogger with a progressive. I have the NOS mini controller and I'm happy with it. It has a lot of good features and the price won't break you up.
I haven't used any other controllers so I'm not gonna say that its the best but I will say that it works for me.
