to be honest what do you really want for $599.00 or how good can it really be for that price tag.............

what will it cost to finish them or put parts in it has is to make it work ?
it was either in hotrod mag or super chevy, but they tested the procomp heads against several name brand heads only to butthurt the name brand heads with the procomps. unbiased magzine article, and the crap heads won.

Tipical car magazine bullshit. These heads were tested on a mild motor with a mild cam. They were all close. Put these heads on a motor with 14:5.1 compression and a .750 lift solid roller the Mast heads would make 100-120 horsepower more IMO. Also they are chinese castings and not even close to being on par with any American made casting period.

Called ProComp today and asked them about the deck thickness. The tech told me 1/8th of an inch. I asked him are you sure because that is extremely thin. After asking him 2 times to really think about how thin 1/8th of an inch is, he said hold on "let me ask the other techs". After waiting on hold for 7 minutes he came back and told me its 1/2 inch. The techs there really do not sound like they know what the F**K they are doing, so I would have a hard time even considering buying a product from a company who hires their techs straight from Dominos pizza.

I just want to say the magazines are not always right but I found this a few weeks ago.
very true, but i was told to watch for the article by the person who was there and wrote it ;) he's a member on the performanceboats.com site i frequent and wrote the article. he runs a big cube profile headed all alum nitrous bbc in his boat. he also hates chinese products, so for him to say they were the better head that day was pretty hard for him to do.

sure mast heads are better, we're talking your basic motor, not big cubes.
