A Super Bowl Shootout: Not all Classes, but NPS, S/S, and maybe three other Classes. Maybe at Norwalk or Route 66 or Stanton. 5k to win.
Bragging right for one year! Top Five Jackets. Maybe?

Jimmy, I don't think Chuck is saying, here or on the NSCA board that it's on right now, but maybe putting an idea out there for others to expand upon. Funds for the track could come from BOTH side's, not just org. but sponsors and racers fundraiseres etc. No payout money, just jackets. Run it sort of like a Orlando event with a total of 5 classes with same amount of cars from both "teams", say 4 or 5 cars per team per class. Event could be a 1 day event. Therefore track rental and cost could be kept low. Now I don't know what it would cost to rent say Milan or Martin say for a Friday night and all day Saturday, But with only payouts being 5 Jackets I don't think it would be too much money.

This might not be a bad thing as BOTH org.s could get an increase in car counts, MAYBE. The PRO racers could get off there chest's why don't run with NSCA and same with the NSCA guys. Maybe it's time to mend some "burnt bridges" to save the NSCA/PRO style of racing. Like what Tony N. and Spongy are doing now, but to the "managment".

NSCA is in need of help, PERIOD. Yes the last event did help, but even that was off a bit. The beast of the travelling show is going the same path as the dinosours! If they don't allow for more Racers/Spectators input, I'm affraid it won't be around. PRO does have the benefit of being owned by the media corp. therefore has a back-up plan.

Hell you could even get some of the money from the Bob Curran/Monty Mikho race. IF, just IF we could expand on that style of money between the "teams", that say Tony Nesbitt would race say John Schroeder for "X" amount of dollars, with a percent of the cut for the race race going to pay for the track rental.

Therefore the racers would get:
1. Money from there "grudge race" say first round for sure. Let them go into second with the option of another grudge race.
2. Bragging right to feed that hungry racers ego.
3. MAYBE help both org.s in the way of future car counts.
4. A jacket for the class winner to bragg about.

Just keep an open mind, John

Jimmy, those are some of the things were discussing up here at the OSCA, HOW TO GET MORE PEOPLE IN THE STANDS? Milan has a handle on it. One things is it's close to a major Car city. The Osca is a once a month deal as well, CFSC is a once a year deal, still Fan turn out is light. WHY? What if the event pass for the weekend is 20 an adult? If it was only 5 or 10 bucks a day per person to get in, many might show just for a few hours. The economy is tuff on the traveling show, payout aren't that great, cost are more. That = harder on people to enjoy it as a sport that it once was. This showdown if it was incorperated with Milan Friday night deal, it would get to a bigger fan base. Run only qualifiers Friday night and the deal on Saturday. It's not too hard, but each would have to fund there teams and agree on classes. NPS for example in PRO doesn't allow 12 degree heads, NSCA does. So get the rules fair for both and go at it. If you get a top class, say Outlaw Pro Street, and NPS, Drag Radial, Extreme Street/Limited, and say American Muscle that way there is something for everyone. Than the fans might say, "hell I can run those numbers". For this year, it would be a stretch to say the least, but for 2006 it could be doable. Just a thought, John

Good idea Chuck, Norwalk hosts a "Outlaw Street" race on select Friday Nights during the year and GUESS WHAT, one happens to be on Friday June 24th. Norwalk is not that bad of a tow from either track so there should be no excuses on traveling distances.

Chuck, you too can be a race promoter!

I'm sure with the people in here we could get some money up to pay some bonus money out to the racers. I'm in if they do this deal.

I think this check writing problem goes far beyond this racing junk.

Corporations, and big business in general just ain't spending money anymore. They are locking it up in bonuses, and profit sharing for the major share holders.... and the big dogs of non-public businesses are just soaking it up.... greed is getting greedier.
