If building an engine to use a ProCharger, do you need to build it simular to what you would build for a NOS engine. Rings further down the pistons etc. An example, a 434 SBC, if you are building this engine for nitrous, you wouldnt want to use 6" rod with the 4" stroke, not enough pin height unles you are running a tall deck block. Would the same apply for a blower engine also?

As you increase the blower boost level so increases the importance of ring placement, type of rings, pin strength, quality of pistons, rods and cranks, camshaft design.

But this is the same rule wether your running a naturally aspirated engine or nitrous or blower. The nitrous or blower just take it to the next step or level.
When all things work together it's more happy......kinda like life;)

Blessings........Ron.

I was told from JE Piston co,,Use the 5.7 rod because you don't want the piston to stay at the top for a longer time....Oldhead
