What would be the best sized header for a 470 inch 3.600 stroke x4.560 bore bbc. planning on making 850+hp. In a pull truck coming out of the hole at 6500 and running to 8800. How much would merge collectors help?

I have been truck pulling for 25 years, every class from the 470ish class you talk of to a national mod fwd. I think a 2 1/4" primary with a 4" collector would work very well for you. On the collectors, that is not a simple answer you really need to tune the choke point diameter and the collector length to see the full potential...

I would say something in the 26-28" length would work well.
