Maybe you can get back to digging more out, next week. Because you are too busy right now. By the way, by the size of the fins on the handle, I would say it is a 1988, or maybe 1989.

Thanks,I was going to restore it but come to think of it I could decrease the value.I'm pretty sure that's from the Civil War! You should take it to Vegas and have what's his name ask a buddy to come take a look at it. I bet it's worth a mint!

Looks like a '70's era Starrett with a ratcheting thimble. By the depth of a throat (although hard to tell without anything to base it off of) they look like 3"-4" or 4"-5".
