I took my sons to the library today and one of them chose a book about firetrucks or so he thought. Its actually a short story about a lightbulb in a fire station. Pretty cool story I might add. The bulb has been burning for 110 years, the same bulb. Anyone else ever hear about this or am I the only idiot. Here's the website, there is even a webcam for those that never heard of it before.

Unswitched and always powered, an incandescent can burn a very long time. Its turning on and heat cycling the filament that destroys them. 110 years is a very long lifetime though.
