What centerline length do you guys use for the "good" and "bad" ports of BBC heads? (I have a pair in my garage, but I'm at work and I'd like to run some numbers at lunch.)

Thanks again, Stan. Would anyone care to post some ballpark lengths for common engines? I have a friend who's putting LS3/LSA heads on his motor, and I'd like to run some numbers for him but I can't find the length on the Internet. I know 5.45 is close for most Gen 1 SBC heads, but it'd be nice to have a quick reference of port lengths (and not just for Chevys).

the Intake Port CenterLine Length = 7.12800
the Exhaust Port CenterLine Length = 5.21500

i looked thru all my Flow test files , i've Ported a bunch of LS3 Heads , but unfortunately, i did not measure any of their Port CenterLine Lengths
should be close enough to LS-7 ??

just get your HeadPorter to measure his LS3's

Example=> Roof= 4.200 Floor= 2.200 Total= 6.400 / 2 = 3.200 Port CenterLine Length
( use Scotch 3M 218 Fine Line Tape to measure Roof and Floor Lengths )

Formula=> Average_CSA = Port_Volume_CC / (Port_CenterLine_Length * 16.387)
