Exploring tuning ideas in my new N/A setup. What have you learned about plug gap vs. measurable performance?

It's not what I have learned but what you will need to learn about your motor/ignition combo.
I would recommend you start with a 0.035 gap and make some passes and adjust the gap open or closed 0.005 at a time.
If your using a crank trigger make sure the rotor is phased correctly first.

With a 7531 or any powerful MSD box I don't think you will see much performance difference at all when running the gap between 0.020 and 0.050. At least I know we haven't. We run the gap at 0.030 - 0.035.

X2.

I've ran everywhere from .030 to .060 and saw ZERO gain in ET or mph. I run them all at .035 now, and fuck what MSD will tell you.

I will stick with my start at 0.035 and try 0.005 bigger or smaller. Do not expect to see any huge gains with a N/A gas motor.
Where the plug gaps makes more different is where you are trying to lite more fuel like in a nitrous, methanol or boosted type application.
