I'm looking for some educational material on this type of electrical motor control. Does anybody hear work with such controls?

With a frequency drive and plc or just frequency drive? Ron beaufort had some very general videos on YouTube that could possibly help you out, but without knowing more about the project, that's all I've got.

I install and tune closed loop motor control for elevators. Some of them have 2 plus loops and I'm trying learn on how they exactly work.
It has to be a variable speed on the motor. Is it 3Ø or DC power?

PM me your email addy and I'll send you a Toshiba tech note on this. Its written around a Toshiba drive, but they do a good job explaining on how the PID works.

On the link I posted, you have to click the sample lessons tab and there you will find a very good lesson on pid.
