How light can you get a 67-72 fleetside shortbed while still maintaining the ability to haul something in the bed?(like an ATV)

I have a 71 shortbed, zero factory options.... I mean zero..... It weighed 3100 before I started on it with no rear bumper and a little but of mother natures weight reduction. That is with a iron headed small block and a Muncie. I'm hoping for under 3,000 lbs with a few things I'm doing to it and race it for a while and then it gets a cage and a crate LS motor for the new nmca LS crate motor class.
