Any options for an overdrive behind a Pontiac 400 besides the 200 ? apprx. 400hp. 67 Lemans street car. Don't want to put a bbc in it if I don't have to. ( son wants to put in a 4.3 with a 700 and small turbo for mileage )

You could use a Gear Vendors unit on the back of a 400 or 350.

Nothing wrong with the 200 just looking at options. My sons friend is trying to talk him into a fuel injected 4.3 with a 700r4. This car will be strictly a daily driver with hour long commutes to college during the week.

4.3L aren't known for great MPG's but neither is a 400 Pontiac.

BPO/Chevy adapters are easiest and cheapest conversion there is.

Dowel and bottom holes are the same, depending on application and engine/trans configuration bolt and threaded components vary.

I don't think the 4l80 will bolt up to a Pontiac block.

CK Performance has adapter plate to attach the BOP Reed bellhousing to the GM 4L80E transmission.

200R. Smaller physically. Lighter. Excellent gear ratios. Easily built to handle those power levels. I'm building a 5.3 single 76mm, and I bought one of Chris's (CK) billet 200R's and a lock up converter. 3.31 gear, 28" tall tire. 1900 @ 75 mph.
