OUTLAW King of the STREET GLEASON TN.

Okay. You cheap street guys and "Street style" drag radial guys wanted a place to duke it out for $$$.. I told you in the Jackson TN dragway thread I would work it out with Monty.. Its all in your own hands now.. SHOW UP and make something out of it.Starting Saturday July 11th , 2009

Northwest TN Motorsports Park in Gleason TN will Host an

OUTLAW KING OF THE STREET race every second Saturday of each month along with my King of the Street race.. It will be $100 entry fee with 100% of the money going into payout..

Winner will get 70% of the $$$ Runner up will get 30%. Very loose rules..

Stock suspension and Backhalf cars. NO TUBE CHASSIS
Up to 315 radial or 13" ET STREET..
Mufflers required.

Full rules to be up soon but nearly everyone should fit..

Seems everyone was missing the old heads up days.. Heres your chance ...Gleason WILL BE the next heads up hot spot in Northwest TN. if you SHOW UP...

He stays pretty busy all the time, he works for the gas company so he may be tied up...He should call you back though...

Probably because Monty has gone away for vacation this week.. I dont return business calls when Im on vacation either..

wrong attitude and direction son........if you want a "show" and a car count
you have to put up a payout....no drag radial car is gonna show up
for 400 bucks and the track needs to make an investment to pack the stands....
Im not trying to grow anything you/they are......

I will, I guess you have the wrong attitude bud, maybe your just not dedicated enough to race then because I know I am... And who said 400 bucks was it, just depends on how many cars show up there pal.. If all the cheap street cars that run Jackson show, then it will be a good turn out for it. If 10 cars show then that would be 700 dollars for first.... So go figure....

YOU are MISTAKEN.. Several of these OUTLAW 275 RADIAL cars were coming semi regularly from as far as several hours away for the king of the street for a measley $300 payout ..Guys were complaining that they were not being allowed to run in the STREET LEGAL CAR event anymore that is held on these nights . So I asked Monty to help give them something to run in.. THEY NEED to convince the track that they will show and are worth him investing in the show. Im certain if they show he will invest.. Im a RACER who just happens to sponsor an event.. Im not a track owner or promoter who profits a cent from anything I sponsor..

As a RACER or FAN you SHOULD BE trying to grow the sport.. Ive always told everyone if they are not part of the solution they are part of the problem..

Charlie, I know you and several of these other semi- local guys will show up and race.. You guys are die hards and good for the sport.

I think it was a very generous offer by Monty to allow guys a place to run and split up ALL THE $$$. Gleason doesnt have a big fan turnout where hes gonna make a fortune from spectators.. Anyone whos been around heads up racing more than a day knows it takes a while to get that draw of spectator base . Or it takes several months of intense promoting a ONE TIME RACE. If the race starts to become a BIG DRAW Im certain Monty will increase the payout to grow the race and fan base..

The bottom line is, Im not seeing ANYTHING around this area where guys can race for some good $$ right now. Except the occasional one off race..

So lets review the options . Drive a few hours for a chance to win $700- $1000 at Gleason .. Or go somewhere else and spend $200 on fuel , nitrous and entry fees to TEST N TUNE.. ????

All of a sudden its looking like a pretty decent alternative to show up and race at GLEASON if you ask me..
