I saw some posts on face book about Outlaw 10.5 turning into a 275 class? Are they going to ban the 33x10.5w? Are they going to have unlimited turbo sizes and no blower restrictions like pro 275?

I hope some folks chime in. Not everyone is on Facebook, but from what I’m hearing some people are embracing the 275 tire but not the unregulated blower/turbo deal. In my opinion if you go to a 275 class and have a different set of rules as the rest of the 275 world, car count is still going to be low. I also feel there should be a 10.5w bias ply option. That being said, Im a little biased, we began building a car last year to fit into Cecil 10.5, and now it don’t fit. The original plan for the car was to run a 10.5 bias ply and have the ability to switch to big tires for select events that we wanted to run. We went so far as to buy some 10.5w’s this year and do some testing on the old car. Now we have a set of tires we can’t use and a car that we can’t race at 4-6 local events.

With Monty and Duck putting big money up for the 275 tire I suppose the writing was on the wall. Outlaw 10.5 became stagnant and evolved into Outlaw 315. Will the 275 tire change car counts and bring some excitement back? I think so but only time will tell.

Nope it will just be another fad. Limiting the tire does nothing with traction control, wheelie control. Plus why on earth do we need 275 cars going almost as fast as pro mods?
IMO The YB race might have a shit ton of cars for the big purse but the weekly show will not get any help from the 275.

IMO The YB race might have a shit ton of cars for the big purse but the weekly show will not get any help from the 275.
I agree. I'm sure you remember the quick 8 running ¼ mile on 10.5's. The good old days!
Who is going to be racing when you could win every race and win way less than half of what you spent to get there. The money to get there is astronomical to get there unless you got a rich Uncle or are a very successful business owner. It's a pissing contest.

I commend Bigtime for his actions as a racer and voice for Outlaw 10.5.

Fwiw, I was just a spectator to the class. Hell, I stopped index racing when they lowered it ½ a second.
Then I lost interest in the SCSO and stopped going to Cecil. Yes, it's been a while, but one change kind of pushed me out of racing. Still got two race cars sitting and no incentive.

put 275's on it and run for fun. A nice day at the track is better than sitting, looking at the phone...
