Would it be of any benefit to open up the intake side of a blower?
Not talking about the Eaton style with ports to massage.
The area under the carburetor at the rotors..
Obviously it is plenty big enough for the carb.. CFM ....but what about how the blower feeds the rotors?

I'm not sure what area you are talking about, Keep in mind that air moves around the side of the case not down through the middle of the rotors so you can't really move material on the entrance of the case without effecting how the rotors trap air.

I wouldn't do much to that blower. Just my opinion though.

I am talking about the area directly below the carburetor.
I don't have a better picture on my phone.
It is a long basically as the carb. opening.
But is narrow and flat under the throttle bores.
Not the most direct path.
Maybe a open spacer would be a step in the right direction.....

I see what you're saying now. You could open that up but I think you will lose efficiency on a blower that isn't that efficient. Meaning you'll have to spin it faster to get more air. I like your spacer idea. I think you will pick up more by doing a 2" or taller spacer. Just have to check linkage and belt/tensioner adjustments.

Enlarging the opening might actually hurt it
